May Days 2011-2012
Every year during the first three Fridays of May, each teacher creates outdoor educational events and activities for the kids to participate in. This year some of the activities included hiking, kayaking, sailing, releasing salmon to Lake Michigan, and sports at Shanahan Field. The students look forward to these activities every year as they are unique and memorable experiences.
On May 4th, Mrs. Brya and Ms. Grunch took a group of students on hiking adventures to Sleepy Hollow State Park and Antrim Creek Preserve where the students were able to identify things they had been learning about in Science class. They also found morels and wild leeks! The students also released salmon (that had been raised in the classroom) into Lake Michigan.
